Grab a cold glass of rose and let’s cheers to summertime! With the days getting longer (and hotter) your outdoor spaces need to be prepped and organized for outdoor entertaining.
Clean outdoor cushions and furniture
Noone wants to sit on cushions that have been outside all winter! Make sure to wash and scrub your outdoor cushions so that everything is nice and clean for guests. Check out this article from Better Homes and Gardens for more tips. Invest in furniture coverings or an outdoor trunk to store your pillows and cushions to keep them cleaner longer.
Throw some shade
If you don’t have a covered porch or patio, make sure your guests stay cool with some shade. Umbrellas, a sun shade or even your tailgating pop up tent will do!
Create an outdoor drink station
Make sure there are plenty of cups, glasses, straws, and coozies for your guests. Make a pitcher cocktail to share with a crowd. My favorite blogger Half Baked Harvest has some delicious cocktail ideas!
Keep the bugs away
Keep citronella candles, bug spray, and wipes nearby when those Louisiana mosquitos come out. We’ve recently invested in a Thermacell and it is a game changer! Use a fogger to spray your grass the day before the party. For those of you with a green thumb, planting lemongrass and citronella near your entertaining areas will do wonders to keep the bugs away.
Store grilling accessories nearby
Store your grilling tools near the grill! Make sure they’re in an airtight container with a lid to keep them clean all year round.
Help guests cool off with fans
Large standing fans or even handheld fans are a nice touch to any party to beat the Louisiana heat plus they help with the bugs!
Pool party? Store these items nearby
Keep sunscreen, towels, floats, noodles, plastic glassware, and flip flops handy for any guest in need.
